Well, Happy New Year to you! Goodbye 2017 and Hello 2018.
What a year 2017 has been, in terms of Amelia's health it's be great! She has really done well this year, her general health has been good, energy levels have vastly improved and we have managed to do a lot of things that we didn't do in 2016.
Looking back on the year we started maintenance treatment, this also saw the last lumbar puncture, a total of 15. We saw football teams arranging charity games for Amelia and CLIC Sargent, friends ran the London Marathon, a family wedding, trip to Legoland, The Sun's Who Cares Wins Awards and we even managed a holiday where we visited Everton FC!
I suppose if there was a "down" moment it was probably December, where we have all struggled with illness. This resulted in Amelia spending time in hospital and was really close to spending Christmas there, but we got her home and although not 100%, she is far better than she was and we even managed to get away for a few days.
So, what does 2018 look like - well, the maintenance treatment finishes on 18th October (289 days from 1st Jan 2018) and we are planning some celebrations for that! Oliver turns 6, this little guy amazes me every single day, I can't really put into words or articulate how this boy has coped for the past 18 months, he is just amazing and such a wonderful boy, he deserves the world.
In March both Tracyann and I are going to be doing the Marsden March, which raises money and awareness for The Royal Marsden Hospital, will be posting a Just Giving page in the New Year, I know you wonderful lot have done so much but we really wanted to do something for The Royal Marsden, so a small donation would be great 👍
Have a wonderful and prosperous 2018, Happy New Year to all our family and friends.
Love Dan, Tracyann, Amelia and Oliver
